Surrounded by mirrors, not all tell the truth. Learning to distinguish a true, empowering reflection from a dangerous projection is one of life's most critical skills.
Worth noting that while this story is about healthy reflection, I have been challenged many times to accept that a negative reflection is also true. My reaction is no longer to defend but to question: Where might my thinking be wrong? Can I say that I have never done that? How much of what is being shared is true? Everything is energy.
Thanks for sharing. It is easy to forget that we are human beings created to be in relation to others around us. Which means reflecting on what others see in us, either positive or critical.
Very welcome! Definitely stops the ‘old storytelling’ spiraling in a way that is deconstructive. Discerning solitude from loneliness has also been key to my wellbeing and healthy reflecting. Thank you ‘Rachel’ ;-)
